Next Scheduled Game

The next scheduled game of L5R will be… sometime. Maybe.

The level of response I got about whether I run L5R or my wife runs SIF this week was… underwhelming. I got two responses. One was happy to play either game, the other, from someone who doesn’t play in the SIF game, said that we should run SIF.

So, it is with heavy heart that I lay down the rulebook and slowly back away.

This campaign may or may not be picked up again. Right now, we’ll just say it’s on hiatus. What I can guarantee with almost complete certainty, is that this is not the end of the Legend of the Five Rings for me. Whether this campaign or another, whether I run or someone else does, I love this setting too much to leave it for good.

Next Session

The next scheduled session of L5R will be August 29. Things are about to heat up as we approach the conclusion of our journey through Phoenix lands, with the climax coming this session or next, depending on how things go. Exciting things are in store! Secrets revealed! Rivals faced! Intrigue! Adventure! Mass Battle(?)! Jenn finally has a real character sheet! And many other exclamations!

Dilemma

So, when no one showed up for gaming this week, I got a little bummed out. Momentum is hard to keep up when we have so much time between actual gaming sessions. Don’t think I’m blaming anyone, I’m as much to blame as (or moreso than) anyone else. There’s really no blame to assign.

Chapter 8: New Blood

After bringing the wounded Shiba Tsukune to the monk, Otaku Hemakshi and Shiba Yomitsu returned to their inn. Mirumoto Saburo was outside Otomo Kambei’s room. The Unicorn and Phoenix wished to report immediately to Kambei. After giving him some time to compose himself, they were brought before him. Yomitsu gave a retelling of their encounter with the Bloodspeakers, leaving out a few specifics, but not blatantly hiding anything.

Things Are Underway

Well, we finally had a session last Sunday, and the write-up will be coming soon. Most likely tomorrow. We’ve got a couple password-protected interludes up featuring hand-outs I gave to the appropriate players. I’ve also updated the Story page, giving links to the story posts. I’ve got a few other goodies in mind as well, that will start showing up the next couple of days.

Still No Chapter 6

No new adventures this week because I am sick as a dog. I’ve slept most of the day, and an hour till gametime, couldn’t imagine me talking for any length of time at all without hacking up a lung.

Maybe next week.

No Chapter 6 Yet

Due to illness and other complications, we did not get together to play last night. Hopes are that we’ll be back on next Sunday, but we’ll just have to see….

Sessions

Just a quick note about our sessions before I start writing them up.

Due to scheduling issues, our group only gets together to play for a couple hours at a time. No long epic sessions for us. We’ve tried to play weekly, but with my job and other constraints, I can’t keep up. Therefore, we now plan for biweekly sessions. We still can’t manage to play quite that often, again due to scheduling issues with everyone involved, and things like illness and the like rearing their heads as well.

As I start this blog, the game is already in progress. We’ve already played six sessions (I think). This means that the write-ups for the first few sessions will be largely based on memory, and will likely only include the highlights. Further write-ups should be more detailed.
