1,000 Years of Peace
The long campaign that sets us off in Rokugan is called “1,000 Years of Peace.” This is a reference to the thousand years of peace promised when the Seven Thunders defeated Fu Leng, back at the dawn of the Empire. The campaign starts in the spring of the year 1121 (by the Isawa calendar), and is planned to continue through to the winter of 1122 (or early 1123).
The PCs will journey to the lands of each of the seven Great Clans, and probably some Minor Clans as well. They will meet, or at least witness, some of the major players in the world. Hopefully, at the end of this 2-year (in game) stretch, they will all have a pretty good feel for the setting, who’s who, what’s going on, and what’s at stake when the next chapter starts.
There is a slow, subtle story arc underlying this, but largely this campaign is about introducing things as they are. The real trouble comes after….
